Your account

Delete your Imxi account

Deletion happens inside the app and takes a minute. You do not need to email anyone, but you can if you no longer have the app.

In the app

  1. 1Open Profile, then Settings.
  2. 2Tap Delete account.
  3. 3Confirm with the code we text to your phone.

Your profile disappears from the service immediately. You have 14 days to change your mind by signing in again. After that, deletion is permanent.

No longer have the app?

Email us from the address on your account and we will start the same 14 day deletion for you. We may ask you to confirm with a code sent to your phone.

Put “Delete my Imxi account” in the subject and include the phone number you signed up with.

What is deleted

  • Your profile: name, photo, town, bio, date of birth, interests, availability and what you are up for
  • Your phone number and email address
  • Your plans, and your membership of other people's plans
  • Your messages, removed from other people's chats where we can do so
  • Your trusted contacts, blocks, saved preferences and push tokens
  • Your device records and sessions

People who already received your messages may keep copies on their devices, and system messages in group chats may show that a member left. Backups are overwritten within 35 days.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Reports you were involved in, with their evidence snapshots

    3 years from the report, for safety and legal reasons

  • Safety alert bundles and related location trails

    3 years from the alert, unless needed for an investigation or claim

  • A hash of your phone number, if your account was banned

    For as long as the ban is in force, so a banned number cannot re-register. Nothing readable is kept

  • Ratings you gave other people

    Kept anonymised inside the other person's aggregate rating

  • Ticket orders, receipts and refund records

    7 years from the order, for accounting and tax, reduced to what the record needs

  • Unused tickets

    Cancelled without refund when the account is deleted, so transfer or use them first

  • Sign in IP addresses and security logs

    Up to 90 days

  • Support emails

    2 years
