Imxi exists so you can find people to do things with. A hike on Sunday, a pizza on Tuesday, someone to go bouldering with when nobody else fancies it. It works because people are honest, kind and show up. These guidelines keep it that way. They are part of our Terms of service.
What we love to see
- Plans that are real, specific and open. "Coffee in Sliema Saturday 10am, two spots" beats "anyone around?"
- Joining with a proper note. Tell the host why you are keen.
- Showing up. If you cannot make it, say so as early as you can.
- Welcoming the quiet one. Everyone was new once.
- Honest profiles. Your photo, your name, your real age.
- Rating fairly. A good rating is a gift to someone's future plans.
What is not allowed
Imxi is for friendship and plans. Nothing else. We remove, suspend or ban for:
- Anything sexual. No hook ups, no nudes, no "what are you into". No escorting, no paid company, no "sugar" arrangements. No plans at strip clubs or similar venues. Bars and nightclubs are fine.
- Drugs. Not offering, not asking, not hinting.
- Weapons.
- Gambling promotion. Betting tips, bookies, casino "deals". A group that happens to visit a casino is fine; promoting gambling is not.
- Selling and recruiting. No businesses, MLM, fundraising or advertising. Venues and workplaces run their events from their own organisation in the app, and sponsored listings are always labelled. Those are the only business presence on Imxi.
- Harassment. Threats, stalking, unwanted messages after someone says stop, sharing private details. This is an instant, permanent ban and we may report you to the police.
- Hate. Attacking anyone for who they are.
- Pretending. Fake names, someone else's photos, fake ages.
- Under 18s. Imxi is adults only. Underage accounts are deleted.
- Scams. Asking for money, loans, "investments", or personal details. Tickets are only ever sold inside the app; anyone offering to sell or transfer a ticket for money in chat is a scam, so report them.
- Anything illegal.
The app blocks some wording automatically. Finding a way around the filter does not make it allowed.
Events and tickets
Venues put on public events and sell tickets inside the app. The same rules apply to an event as to a plan: no adult entertainment, no gambling promotion, nothing sexual, nothing illegal. Bars, clubs, gigs, quiz nights, boat parties and festas are all fine. The venue is the organiser and is responsible for its event: the licence, the capacity, the safety, the age limit and the refunds. If an event is not what it said, or something at it is wrong, report the event from its page and we take it up with the venue.
Your ticket is yours. Transfer it to a friend in the app if you cannot go; never sell it. If the venue cancels, everyone is refunded in full without asking.
How ratings work
After a dated plan finishes, everyone who was accepted on it can rate each other with stars and a few quick tags ("On time", "Great company", "Cancelled last minute"). Ratings are anonymous and only possible between people who were actually on the same plan. The person sees their average, not who said what. Rate honestly and kindly. Ratings used to settle scores get removed.
How reporting works
Every profile, plan and message has a report button. Pick a reason, add a line if you like, and send. We get a snapshot of what you reported, so you do not need to screenshot anything. Reports are confidential; the other person never learns who reported them.
A person looks at every report. If something gets three reports from different people in a week it is paused automatically until we have checked. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours, and we will tell you what we decided.
You can also block anyone. They will not be able to message you, see your plans or find you, and you will not see them.
What happens on a ban
- Your account is closed and your phone number cannot be used to register again.
- We tell you which rule you broke, unless doing so would put someone at risk.
- You can appeal once, by email, within 14 days. Someone who did not make the original decision reviews it.
- For harassment, threats, sexual solicitation, drugs, weapons or anything involving minors there is no warning first, and we may pass details to the Malta Police.
Meeting people safely in Malta
Meeting new people is the whole point, so do it well.
- Meet in public. A café, a beach with people on it, a bar, a group walk. Not someone's flat or car for a first meet.
- Tell a friend. Use the share button on the plan to send it to someone you trust. Add them as a trusted contact in Settings so the safety features can reach them in one tap.
- Keep your own transport. Know how you are getting home. Malta is small, but a late night bus can be a long wait.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, it is fine to leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation. Rate and report afterwards.
- Use the unsafe button. It is on every plan and every chat. It sends your location and situation to our safety team, offers a one tap call to 112, and lets you share where you are with your trusted contacts. Read our Safety centre.
- In an emergency call 112. Police, ambulance and fire, free, in English or Maltese. For non emergencies the Malta Police are on 2122 4001. Supportline 179 is there day and night if you just need to talk to someone.
Thank you for being here. Go and do something good.
